I've been at a Senior's Expo in Perth the last couple of days and finished up with some good sales, lots of cards and some prints plus two of my in stock canvas prints.

Our exhibition on the weekend went very well, got good numbers and sales. I sold my St Remy Provence large canvas and three single roses on canvas, plus a huge number of my photo cards.
The sales overall very good, and our raffle has raised sufficient funds for us to be able to give money to fund 10 wheelchairs for the group Wheelchairs for Kids. These chairs are manufactured by volunteers and thousands are sent to third world countries. We are all very happy with this result.
I got very good feedback about my photography and now have to decide where to go from here - how to promote.
One local restaurant has approached us to put our work on their walls on a month to month basis, so probably four of us at a time will exhibit as 40 pieces are needed to fill the restaurant.
The car is all packed with my canvas prints and art works, plus those of my friend Meredith who is overseas. My husband and I will be leaving early to take the work to Sorrento and help with the set up of our exhibition.
Fourteen of us exhibiting our work, the majority will be watercolours, some acrylic and oils and I am for the first time putting on exhibition my photographic work. I am really thrilled how well the canvas prints have reproduced. It is going to be very interesting to get the reaction of the public and hopefully some sales.
If you are in Perth hope you can come along to the Brush with Colour Exhibition opening tomorrow Friday 10th June at noon until 5pm and then Saturday and Sunday 9am - 5pm.
Where- at the Sorrento Surf Lifesaving Club West Coast Drive Sorrento
Entry is free. There is a raffle which supports Wheelchairs for Kids

Just written about our visit to Shangri-La in China.
As a result of this visit I am now sponsoring a young boy to attend the Tangka Art Centre to learn traditional art. This is a four year project. All commissions/royalties from the sale of my work goes to this project.
The photograph was taken on board the Victorian Queen whilst we were doing a Yangtze cruise last October 2010. The lovely young ladies who cleaned our cabins during the day or waited on tables in the dining room, at night became entertainers and did a wonderful job.
Thank you to my two friends who have bought my calendar Faces of China and therefore have assisted my scholarship for Tsering Dhundup a 12 year old boy in Shangri-La China attend the Tangka Art Centre. My 30% commission on the sale of these products will go to the scholarship.
I have just sent off my first contribution to the scholarship and the school year gets under way February 15 2011 and will be for four years. He will learn their traditional art and also have classes in English. I am looking forward to receiving progress reports.
Lovely and cool in Perth today, don't think we have seen the sun all day. Going to be up to 40 by Friday so making the most of it. I am getting ready for a watercolour workshop tomorrow doing furry animals so have been preparing some drawings ready for the class.
Thank you to Firdaus from Wollongong New South Wales who has connected with me on Facebook, Redbubble and Zazzle.
In November 2010 we visited Shangri-La in China. We were there for two days and it was very cold around 5c! We had on every layer of clothing that we could put on and then our plastic ponchos on top of that to try to keep the cold wind out.
Our guide Tony took us to visit a family in a village, which was indeed very interesting to see how they lived. The family of three generations made us very welcome, lit the fire in the big room and brought out Yak cheese for us to try.
Tony told us about a scholarship scheme he is involved with, wherein they help students that are passing their exams to be able to get further on in life. The family whom we visited, have a daughter that has been able to go onto University and now has a stable job as a result of the scholarship. Something that the family could not have afforded and provided.
I would like to raise funds to help another student and I have created a Zazzle shop and all commissions received from sales will go to the scholarship. I will be adding more work to the shop and lots more products. http://www.zazzle.com.au/susanmossart*
The new year is under way and I have been creating a Zazzle shop.
2010 finished well with 5 weeks in China with my husband Ray and the last week a girls week with my sister Janette. Most memorable was Lhasa in Tibet, and my knee stood up to all the stairs really well.
Off to a watercolour workshop this week for two days doing birds and furry animals and just booked to do a abstract class in acrylics early if February. April will see me in Tasmania with five friends doing a 5 day watercolour workshop plus a few days of free time. Should get all the creativity going again.
