Still trying to work out how to use my DSLR camera and new macro lens, but must be doing something right to get featured!

New Paintings

Finished off my paintings for the Watercolour Society Exhibition Annual Awards coming up on the 7th October. Big relief to have them all done. My sister is coming to help me get them into their frames on Friday. I am recycling frames from previous paintings.

It is a bit hard!

It is a bit hard having one leg in a rigid splint, it has somewhat has clipped my wings so to speak! After my fall in Bali last week and the xray finding a fracture of the left patella, I have to endure 6 weeks in a rigid splint and no driving! I have to have the seat back so far just to get my leg in the car, cannot reach the pedals to drive. So have to rely on my husband to take me places.

I did get to see my grandson win his grade 1 running race this morning and duly photographed, everyone else was at work. It is a wet day here, which is pretty rare for us, driest winter for a long long time, they sent the junior classes back to school as they were getting very damp and cold, so I was able to ring my husband and ask him to come and pick me up and come home again.

Off to have another xray this afternoon to check and see there is no further movement, if one can be lucky I am in that there is very little displacement and hopefully after 6 weeks of wearing the splint it will all be healed again and we can go to China October 12. Time is going to tell on that one.

My photo has a win

My photo 'Cherry Blossom Time' has won a challenge in the Blooming Trees Group and is now featured on their front page with 6 of my photos featured and I am the featured artist for the month. Very exciting. I also receive a US$20 voucher to spend on redbubble.

Back into painting

I have nearly finished my commission of two rose paintings and will photograph and put online later today, soon as I am satisfied they are finished.

Got to keep the brushes flowing for the upcoming Watercolour Society Annual Awards in early October.

This week we are going to Bali for four nights so that will cut my time back.

Morning painting

Off to painting group this morning, I am working on a commission, of roses two paintings for a bedroom. One done and second one on the way.

I didn't get any sales at Belmont, so my paintings came home again. Next week I take three paintings to the Cystic Fibrosis Exhibition at Nedlands and have several more exhibitions in mind with the Watercolour Society Annual Awards in early October looming. Have to keep busy with the paint brushes.

Having some fun

I played around a bit yesterday with my paints and papers and created 'Spaced Out', did another one to but not so happy with that so wil have another go. I have just drawn up some roses to paint as I have a commission to fulfil, one done and the second one of the pair to do.

Painting again

It is good to be back into painting again. I am working on two commissions of roses for a lady's bedroom. Using hot pressed paper which is smooth, gives a lovely soft watercolour finish.

This afternoon have to deliver two of my paintings to Belmont Forum Shopping Centre for an exhibition by the Shire of Belmont. Both are mixed media. 'Extravaganza' and 'Iris Garden' are the two that I am taking.

Up the ante on my photography

I've upped the ante on my photography and with the advice of my step son Simon who is a SLR enthusiast, I have purchased my first digital SLR camera. I'll have lots of fun when it arrives during the week trying it out.

Have to get back into doing some blogging, like I am getting back into painting. I have been busy today doing some drawing for a couple of commissions I have to fulfill. Both for the same lady and are roses. Tomorrow I can get into painting them.
