Lovely cool day in Perth today - Monday
Lovely and cool in Perth today, don't think we have seen the sun all day. Going to be up to 40 by Friday so making the most of it. I am getting ready for a watercolour workshop tomorrow doing furry animals so have been preparing some drawings ready for the class.
Thank you to Firdaus from Wollongong New South Wales who has connected with me on Facebook, Redbubble and Zazzle.
Have a look at her work here, some really interesting work href=" href="http://www.zazzle.com/webgrrl?rf=238613081256805599">WebgrrlShop of Creativity">WebgrrlShop of Creativity
Sorry I am having some trouble getting the links to work properly if anyone can give me advice on how to get it to work properly I would appreciate that.

Sunday and a quiet day doing stuff!
Having a quiet day today doing stuff on the computer. Want to get onto ebay and get rid of excess stuff, but have to get it photographed so that is going to be my morning.
Thank you to Mala of The Little Card Shop who has offered to help me get my Zazzle store more prominent.

It is a nice cool day so more condusive to doing work. Going to heat up by the end of the week with high 30s and a 40 expected.
Tomorrow I have to get myself sorted to do a watercolour workshop on Tuesday doing soft and furry animals, should be fun.

A big surprise for me
Last October 2008 at the Watercolour Society of Western Australia Annual Awards Exhibition, I really surprised myself (and many others) by taking off the top prize with my painting of an iris. It is quite a good size 500cm x 500cm (19 3/4" x 19 3/4") before framing.
It was the first time I had worked on an easel standing up to the painting, and that I think contributed to a better flow with the brushes.
My sister in law was so excited on the night that she bought it, she did not want it to go out of the family. So every time we go to visit Lorelie we see my painting which is rather nice.
I took some weeks to come down to earth, and still have to pinch myself to realise "I did it". The trophy sits on the mantle piece until this coming October. Plus the next invitation will have one of my paintings on it, one of the privileges that comes with the prize. It is all pretty exciting stuff.
